Hey, I’m Michele! The Gen X woman behind Tans & Tantrums, your go-to spray tan artist serving Ave Maria, Naples, Bonita Springs, Estero, and surrounding Southwest Florida communities. I’ve been in the spray tanning business for six years, and one thing I’ve learned is that a great spray tan is about so much more than looking sun-kissed. It’s about feeling confident, looking fabulous, and loving the skin you’re in—at every age! As a proud wife, mom, grandma, and unapologetic Gen X woman, I bring a little sass, a lot of personality, and a whole lot of heart to everything I do. I believe beauty has no age limit, confidence never goes out of style, and nobody needs to bake in the Florida sun to get that gorgeous, healthy-looking color. BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT The Perfect Tan Starts With Proper Skin Prep * Take a shower at least 3 hours prior to appointment but ideally 12 hours before * Shaving, Waxing, Laser Treatments or any other esthetic treatment should be completed 24 hours prior to your spray tan. This will allow the pores to close before application and prevent dark spots from forming. Exfoliation is important during this time period as well. * Do not use any creams, oils, lotions, gels, shaving creams, or any other oil based products that may leave a residue and prevent the tan from adhereing or developing. * Do not wear makeup, cream, sunscreen, perfume or deodorant on the day of the appointment. * Moisturize the skin a few days before the session. (Not the day of) * Wear loose dark clothing after the application. After Your Appointment * Your technician will give you a specific rinse time. If you are able to sleep in your tan, avoid touching your skin. * During the development stage please wear dark loose fitting clothing. Avoid activities that cause sweating, do not spill anything, get wet and avoid lotion, perfume and make-up. * Your initial rinse will be with lukewarm water ONLY and use your hands to glide all the bronzer off your body. Do not wash your hair or use soap until 2nd rinse. Pat dry. * MOISTURIZE DAILY(Morning and Evening) * STAY HYDRATED * Use Tan friendly products that are paraben, sulfate and mineral oil free. Ask your tech for recommendations * Wear sunscreen * For the first 24 Hours avoid: excessive sweating, tight clothes and working out. * First 2-3 days avoid retinol products * Duration of the tan : Avoid hot showers, saunas, chlorine, salt water, body oil and sand
